| Template | ||||
| The reference image of the sword, found in the reference gallery was scaled up using the Windows Vista version of Paint. Which actually allows you to scale up images drastically, in this case, a lower resolution image, to full size, and to be printed out. The print was pieced together, backed with tape, and used as a template. | ||||
| Body Pieces | ||||
| The template was used to cut out the three main body pieces of the sword. One piece for the inner core, and two outer pieces, which were slightly shorter and narrower, to allow for the beveled edge on the sword. The outer pieces also had the center sections removed, in order to recreate the groove seen on the in game sword. | ||||
| Glued Together | ||||
| The main body pieces were glued together using CA or super glue. | ||||
| Resin | ||||
| After being glued together, the entire sword was given two coats of resin, making sure to allow the resin to soak into the cardboard. | ||||
| Resin Used | ||||
| Pictured here is the resin used for this piece, simply Elmer's Fiberglass resin. The resin is mixed in the lunch meat container seen in the picture. After the resin in the container has dried, the container can be flexed, breaking out the dried resin and allowing the container to be reused. | ||||
