WEAPON – ACE OF SPADES (IN GAME
EXOTIC)
The weapon for my Warlock costume is the Ace of Spades Hand canon, and in the game pulses blue when fully charged, so it was important to me to emulate that in some way. I found a cleaned-up Ace of Spades model pulled from the game itself on THINGIVERSE and modified in Blender to allow for electronics to be added. The electronics allow for the top chamber to pulse blue as it would in game, and the barrel to glow red as it does in game when aiming.
The electronics are fully self-contained, run on an Arduino nano. I designed, soldered, and assembled all the electronics; then I wrote the code using open-source reference code, and my own logic to run through an animated LED Sequence whenever powered up. It is fully rechargeable via a USB plug stored
in the chamber.
Great Video on how to do similar electronics
The body of the weapon was 3d printed on an Ender 5 Pro with PLA, and cleaned up using glazing putting and UV Resin. Bolts were used to assemble most so it could be disassembled if electronics needed repair.
It was painted with 5 base coats of different shades of black and then a top white coat. The white was then sanded away to allow for a weathered look. Final weathering included spot RubNBuff Silver leaf to show metal burning through and multiple acrylic paint washes.
Not sure which of the following thingiverse models I used but I did modify a decent amount in blender to put electronics in it.

Ace of Spades was a Hunter-exclusive exotic Hand Cannon introduced in The Taken King, which served as the signature weapon of the Vanguard Hunter Cayde-6.[1] It is obtained by reaching Rank 3 Gunsmith reputation with a Hunter and completing the Back in the Saddle quest. It was reintroduced in Forsaken and was attainable after a lengthy questline following the main story, and made available to all Classes. The Ace of Spades is named after Cayde-6’s son, Ace, before he became a guardian. Since the introduction of the Beyond Light expansion, the Ace of Spades can be obtained in the Monument to Lost Lights.
