WEAPON – GLAIVE / THE ENIGMA
This was a last minute addition I started building at the recommendation and encouragement of friends I play with. It is the Engima Glaive, and was the hit of the costume. This is build with the same process as many of the above pieces, ripping models from the game, editing in in blender to update the poly count to allow for it to be printed. I somehow managed to build this in under a month leading up to Dragon Con, and could not be happier with how it turned out.
Parts of the blade did not print as desired so I covered them with an LED Strip and perforated Metal. The effect it gave was a happy surprise as it really glowed well and looks so much better in person.
The bulk of the body will be built with PVC to allow for disassembly and easy of transportation, and strength. Much of the handle was so simple it felt better to build practically than to print, which I would recommend to anyone making a glaive as they are big. I actually scaled mine down slightly and it is still huge.
The details were just vinyl decals I designed and cutout, and much of the paint was hand painted as I ran out of time to spray it.
There are not many picture for this build but it was just a prototype. The next build I will document in detail as I improve based on what I found worked and what didn’t, as well as update the electronics some.

The Enigma is a Legendary Glaive introduced in The Witch Queen expansion. Referred to as Artifact of the Black Fleet, it is acquired through a quest called The Relic, provided by Ikora Rey in The Enclave after collecting said artifact on The Lure in the first campaign mission of The Witch Queen.[1]
